Mohammed Zulkarnaen Othman@ZERO
Singaporean, Mohammed Zulkarnaen Othman more commonly known as ZERO, graduated from NAFA, Diploma in Visual Communications, and furthered his studies in Lasalle College of the Arts, Diploma in Fine Arts (Painting) and BA (HONS) in Fine arts (Painting). He is a recipent of the ‘NATIONAL ARTS COUNCIL Young Artist Award’ for the year 2013. He has been a professional artist from 2003.
Zero chooses to work with a more unconventional style, street art and graffiti. He captures and documents current themes and issues of life and transforms them into his artworks. His works reflect our contemporary society, thoughts, and space while meshing street and graffiti art.
Zero is the only urban artist to have been part of “The Substation’s Associate Artists” program and was a nominee for the “President’s Young Talent” in 2005. He has exhibited widely both local and internationally. His body of work from his solo exhibition, The Spectacular Spectacular, has been acquired by the Singapore Arts Museum and remains as part of its permanent collection since 2011.
Zero is currently a part-time lecturer at the Lasalle College of the Arts and is working towards his postgraduate MA studies.
