Tung Yue Nang 邓汝能
Tung Yue Nang was born in 1959 in Singapore. At the young age of 15 he trained under artist Shi Xiang Tao who taught him Chinese painting, calligraphy, and seal carving and engraving. He also trained under Singapore Sculptor, Ng Eng Teng, in the art of ceramics and sculpture. He was a graphic design director for a time before he finally decided switch his career and become a full-time professional artist.
Initially he was focused on traditional Chinese style paintings, however, he slowly incorporated elements of western art into his work and style. His belief in the “Tao Te Ching” philosophy also defines his personal style of work. He has traveled widely to gain inspiration and the spiritual nourishment. It is evident in his works that he manages to incorporate all elements that matter to him, a fusion of the Chinese and Western and the “Tao Te Ching” philosophy.
Tung Yue Nang has participated in many events and exhibtions in his artistic career, not to mention winning a several awards for his works. He is a very established artist in Singapore.
