Tan Choh Tee 陈楚智
Born in 1942 in Canton, China, Tan Choh Tee graduated from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in Singapore in 1962. In 1984 he returned to his alma mater as art lecturer and in 1987, he was accepted as Research Fellow of Beijing Central Institute of Fine Arts-Masterclass in Oil Painting. He was admitted to the French Artists’ Colony-Cite Internationale des Art Study tour of major museums in Paris in 1998.
Tan Choh Tee has held solo exhibitions in Singapore and Taiwan on several occasions and participated in group exhibitions in Singapore, ASEAN Countries, Brunei, Jakarta, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, Paris, Germany and Moscow.
In 2006, Tan Choh Tee was conferred the prestigious Cultural Medallion award for artistic excellence in Visual Arts.
Tan Choh Tee currently works and paints from his studio.
