Singapore Artist

Paul Koh

Paul Koh is the artist behind the unique body of captivating and vibrant cat-inspired art known as the “CatmaSutra” series.

Paul has been illustrating and drawing ever since he was a child. Growing up with cats also means that his two passions are inextricably linked together. Paul experimented with different forms of expressions before finding his element in his “CatmaSutra” series, where his approach to art resembles the personality of the cat – playful, curious, unpredictable and quirky.

Recent exhibitions organised by Blue Lotus fine art included the “CatmaSutra Series” with “My Quirky Valentine” at Alliance Française in 2010, and “From the Depths of My Lullaby” in Hong Kong at the Gallery by the Harbour. Paul has ongoing shows for his CatmaSutra series.

Paul graduated from SimonFraserUniversity in Canada, with an honours degree in Mass Communications, and a second major in Psychology. He was also awarded the Certificate in Liberal Arts.

Paul won a ‘distinction’ in the interactive media category of the Singapore Design Award 2000 for Sony’s PlanetMG Website. He also won third prize for his short story “Quivering” at biannual SPH-NAC Short Story Writing Competition, The Golden Point Award 1999. He also produced, art-directed and co-wrote a short film for the Singapore Film Festival’ 97.

He is currently the Principal Consultant of an award winning advertising company.
