Indonesian Artist
S Dana
Dana’s world is one of rich colors and a glimpse of paradise. Born in Denpasar, Bali in 1963, he grew up amidst rice fields set against terraced landscapes, the celebration of harvests steep in a rich tradition of religion, art and culture.
Dana rarely uses a paint brush. Instead he has developed a unique style of Pointillism to create impressionistic landscapes. He applies color on canvas using a stick, palette knife or his fingers. His landscape paintings are broad, sweeping and depicts the annual cycle of sowing, harvest and the rites of celebration.
Dana is based in his studio in Bali but comes into Singapore and Malaysia frequently to work with galleries here. He has many buyers from Singapore and the SE Asian region who visit his studio to view and collect his artworks.
